Getting to and From the Ride

Here's everything you need to know about how to get to the ride and how to get home!  For info on how to transport your bike and luggage for free, see here.

You need to book airfare, and we are here to help!

Why don't we book airfare for you?

a) You can get a cheaper fare online than we can get by calling up the airline and offering to buy a block of seats.

b) Can you imagine trying to get everyone on the trip to agree to ONE flight schedule? Impossible!

c) Some folks may want to book their flight with frequent flyer miles.

How to Book Your Airfare

You want to book two separate ONE-WAY flights:

• Book a one-way flight from your hometown that lands in Las Vegas absolutely no later than 3:00 p.m. on September 7th.  (Earlier is better if you can swing it!)  If you want to arrive in Las Vegas a couple days earlier we can help -- just ask.

• Book another one-way flight headed to your hometown from Phoenix, AZ, departing no earlier than 1:00 p.m. on September 12th.  (We'll have a free shuttle that will get you to the Phoenix airport about 11 a.m.)  If you prefer to fly at a different time you can buy a ticket for the local shuttle service to the airport -- we can help.

NOW THEN... back in the day, arriving and departing from different cities was a big deal -- now it's a piece of cake, and quite affordable. If you're booking online look for a link called Multi-City or similar. Here's what the page looks like:

For all flights don't forget that we will be transporting your bike and luggage for free -- you can take only a carry-on if you wish.

Insane Trivia Item for our NYC Friends: Note in the examples above that we have asked for a search of flights from NYC -- all airports.

That means the computers at Kayak or Expedia will look for flights out of LaGuardia, JFK, and Newark.  But for the return trip it will ALSO search for all three of those airports.

SO... If you are departing from, say, LaGuardia, and left your car parked there, make sure that you are not booking a flight that returns that lands at JFK!

Some online travel sites have a preference called Return to Same City or similar.

Clear as mud?  You bet!
